Mr. Liu Shaoxi, born in December 1963, founded his business with 800 RMB in 1987 and established Yihua Group Enterprise Co., Ltd. in 1995. As the chairman of the Board and vice secretary of the Party Committee of Yihua Group, he also assumes position as the chairman of Yihua Timber Industry Co., Ltd.
As one of China’s elite private entrepreneurs, Mr. Liu is regarded as an outstanding representative of Chaoshan businessmen. Among the myriad of influential positions that Mr. Liu holds, he is vice chairman of China International Chamber of Commerce, president, director and executive vice chairman of the First Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce, vice chairman of the Association of Industry and Commerce of Guangdong, vice chairman of Guangdong Youth Federation, honorary chairman of Guangdong Charity Federation, and vice chairman of Guangdong Entrepreneurs Association. Furthermore, he was elected a delegate of the Ninth Guangdong Party Congress, a delegate of Eleventh Guangdong National People's Congress, and a member of the Ninth CPPCC Guangdong Committee.
In his many years of generous donations, Mr. Liu has contributed over RMB 150 million to charities and public welfare organizations. Also, Mr. Liu has contributed RMB 100 million to establish “Yihua Charitable Foundation” with the support of Guangdong Bureau of Civil Affairs and Guangdong Charity Federation. He has been honored with a multitude of distinguished awards, including the “China Charity Award,” “The National Labor Medal,” the “Outstanding Promoter of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” award, “National Top Ten Outstanding Youth Nominations,” “Guangdong Ten Outstanding Youth,” “Guangdong Top 10 Philanthropist,” “Charity Star of South Guangdong,” “Guangdong Top Ten Most Influential Persons of the Economy,” the “Outstanding Model Worker of South Guangdong” award, and “Entrepreneurial Star of Guangdong.”
